Looking for a restaurant for Valentine’s Day? We suggest one in the heart of Madrid, right in front of El Retiro Park: Zoko Restaurant. We’ve prepared a set menu for €65, available on February 14 for both lunch and dinner, and now also on Friday, February 13 for dinner service, due to the high demand we’ve had for Saturday.
Chef Javier Álvarez wanted to pay tribute not only to the heart, but also to the stomach. “It’s a classic menu inspired by what I’m truly passionate about: gastronomy. That’s why we’ve chosen dishes that never go out of style, that always work and bring happiness—just like love itself.”

We begin with a chef’s appetizer featuring a traditional stew of the day, followed by our famous truffled toast with wild Almadraba bluefin tuna and Payoyo cheese. Zoko is known not only for its stews and rice dishes, but also for its wild tuna, sourced from the almadraba of Zahara de los Atunes (Cádiz), where the Zoko Group—of which the restaurant is part—operates five summer venues. Land of the finest tuna in the world.

We then move on to shrimp tacos, once again with a Cádiz-inspired thread, this time with a Mexican twist. This dish is based on the traditional Cádiz tortillita de camarones, which we use as a substitute for a Mexican corn tortilla, filling it with prawns, cilantro, pickled onion, and chipotle sauce—meant to be eaten by hand, just like a Mexican taco.

As a final appetizer, a cannelloni filled with a stew of free-range grilled chicken, spinach, and ricotta cheese. A warm dish that couples will be able to try as a preview, ahead of the launch of the restaurant’s new menu, scheduled for the end of this month.
Next come the main courses: Beef Wellington—wrapped in puff pastry—or grilled wild Almadraba bluefin tuna belly with tomato sauce and a fried egg, a traditional way of enjoying this premium product in the La Janda area of Cádiz.
